Visiting the Beautiful Pink Beach in the NW of Padar Island

You probably read the title and thought why is she using NW? Well, that’s because there isn’t just one Pink Beach in Indonesia. In fact, some islands in Indonesia have multiple pink beaches on them. I learned this quite quickly after going to three different pink beaches in three days. I’m telling you this because if you simply tell your guide you want to see “Pink Beach” it may not be clear to them where you want to go!pink beach padar island indonesiaI knew these beaches would be beautiful because, duh, it’s a Pink Beach. But no matter how much research you do, seeing it for the first time is unexplainable.

We didn’t even see another boat cruise by and that made snorkeling even better.pink beach padar island indonesiaSnorkeling here was unbelievable. I saw some of my favorite coral I have ever seen and my first Nemo in the wild! Multiple ones! pink beach padar island indonesiaAside from snorkeling you can try and perfect your photography skills and get a cool picture of the pink sand! Keep in mind all pictures aren’t going to look super pink. Most of the ones you see on Instagram are highly edited. It all depends on the lighting when photographing these beautiful beaches.

Please keep in mind this is one of the five islands Komodo Dragons are found, so exploring is not advised. Stay on the beach but even then, keep your eye out for them.

If you don’t have three days to spare, you can take a tour and visit Pink Beach and Komodo National Park in the same day. Just keep in mind it might be a different Pink Beach! You can see below I was on a very old basic boat but there are many options.boat pink beach padar island indonesiaYou can book through travel agents in Bali or Labuan Bajo, Flores or online, it is a very popular day trip. Most people choose this option, because there are pros and cons to using a less reputable company. Cons include having to go down to the docks and look for a guide or getting ready to leave and realizing there was an issue with the boat…pink beach padar island indonesiaCaptain Aldira working his ass off to fix it…boat pink beach padar island indonesiaIn my opinion I would always pick the local guide in a run down boat, it makes for a better experience! I didn’t mind the delay because we had more time on the beach. But do keep this in mind if you have a strict schedule. boat pink beach padar island indonesiaAfter a couple of hours of boat maintenance we were off to visit the island I was most excited about, Padar!
