I loved eating and drinking our way through Oklahoma City last month! When I lived in Oklahoma, we were always busy partying in Norman I rarely made it up to Oklahoma City. At the time, there was an ok bar scene (a few fun rooftop bars scattered around) but nothing to make the trip up there, worth it. Well, I had the opportunity to visit last month and oh my gosh it’s changed so much! There were so many fun bars to choose from and they all had their own unique charm. Here are my favorite Oklahoma City bars from our trip in alphabetical order.
Bar Arbolada
Located on W Main Street downtown, Bar Arbolada is the cutest bar! The decor is simple and modern and it was the perfect first stop for drinks our first night visiting the many Oklahoma City bars we wanted to try out.
We started with an Old Fashioned and French 75 and they were both awesome.
Not only did I love this bar for the yum drinks and just overall cuteness, I was here meeting up with one of my favorite friends ever! Now every time I think about Oklahoma City bars and Bar Arbolada in particular, I’ll also think about my Ash☺️.
Ok let’s be honest, the real reason we came here is because Ashley taught us that they also serve amazing burgers and fries. We didn’t plan to get one because we had dinner plans after but when they accidentally put onions on her order, I mean, I had to…It was so perfectly crispy and yum!
My only complaint about this bar was the service. The bartender could have cared less about us and things were a bit slow. I am always hesitant to mention things like this because 1. I know everyone has bad days and 2. Working in the service industry is ROUGH especially right now but also felt necessary to mention it. The thing is it wasn’t horrible enough to not keep me coming back or even getting another drink that night! Our second drinks were a Manhattan and a Negroni, also delicious! Just be prepared it might not be the fastest service you’ve ever experienced.
Overall, Bar Arbolada was one of our favorite spots exploring Oklahoma City bars and we would definitely go back!
Fuzzy’s Bricktown
Located in Bricktown, next up is the famous Fuzzy’s Rita from Fuzzy’s! I almost didn’t put this one on the list because Fuzzy’s ambiance is different compared to everywhere else listed on this blog post, BUT I simply had to because their margaritas are so good and you just gotta have one when you’re in Oklahoma. I thought it might just be nostalgic for me, but Jake approved and we had an awesome time here drinking Fuzzy Rita’s and eating chips and queso! You can also get them frozen if you prefer.
We came here for a drink and appetizer so I could show Jake Bricktown, but I highly recommend this spot as a nightcap and drunken food as well, you can thank me later!
Omni Hotel: Catbird Seat Rooftop Bar or Bob’s Steak and Chop House
We wanted a really nice hotel for a night to get away from crazy house projects and landed on the new Omni Hotel located right downtown Oklahoma City. Oh my gosh, we didn’t regret it at all! Overall, our room was quite basic because we didn’t want to go broke, lol, but the amenities were so wonderful! They were kind enough to give us early check-in and we didn’t have plans for a few hours so we made out way up to the Catbird Seat Rooftop Bar to relax and enjoy some drinks. This pool had making me say, “Are we really in Oklahoma right now!?” I mean look at it…
Our bartender’s name was Ashley and she was awesome! The signature cocktails were a bit sweet for my liking so she gave me a bunch of different options to choose from. I really liked their Lemon Lavender drink just asked for a bit less simple syrup. So refreshing in the 102 degree heat. We thought we’d be miserable in the heat but the breeze was perfect and we ended up staying for 3 hours.
For a nightcap on our last night we decided to head to Bob’s Steak and Chop House in the Omni Hotel so we could just take the elevator up to our room. The bartender was also incredible here (I am blanking on his name but he is in the picture below) and we had an awesome martini and old fashioned. This bar was so beautiful and swanky and we definitely want to have dinner here next time we are visiting.
Social Capital
Right across the street from the Omni Hotel is the new Social Capital Beer Garden. It’s so awesome and has so many different Oklahoma beers to choose from!
Seriously so many you’ll stand there forever trying to choose which one. They do family style seating and it was such a cool place to mingle and enjoy awesome Oklahoma beers.
The coolest part is they have a rooftop that looks out at the city on one side…
And the new Scissortail Park and the Omni Hotel on the other!
We personally loved the Chug Norris, Just the Juice , Aura of Vitality, and Pluto’s Still a Planet. Keep in mind their kegs rotate quite frequently. The service here was incredible and the whole ambiance was so fun, couldn’t recommend it more!
The Jones Assembly
Since this bar opened a few years ago it’s been one of my favorite Oklahoma City bars! After trying out a few new ones on this last trip, it is still the tried and true. Maybe it’s because some of my closest friends from college worked or work here, maybe it’s the nostalgia of coming here with my favorite people ever, maybe it’s the delicious cocktails and food, ok it’s obviously a combination of all of these things and you just have to go! All the photos up until this point have been mine but the next few I pulled from The Jones Assembly social media because mine were so outdated from when it first opened and it’s even cooler now!
They’ve expanded many times and have the coolest patio section now!
Speaking of patio, if you ever have the chance to see Just Chels at The Jones Assembly (they typically play at least monthly) you absolutely have to! They are friends of mine and so unbelievably talented. It the perfect place to grab dinner, drinks and catch some awesome live music.
I mean come on just look at this cocktail!? Instead of recommending anything particular just go there and order anything. I’ve never been and not enjoyed my food and drinks!
