In 2019, Traverse City got a new restaurant. Well, a food-centric event space. This space has quickly become one of my favorites in Traverse City and I wanted to share a bit about it! Husband and wife, Forrest and Nicole Similar created this badass event space that is available for small dinner parties with seasonal menu offerings. They have done a great job pivoting and moving to more carryout options during the pandemic, but thankfully their dinner parties are back! They also do private catering, cooking classes, pasta and wine to go, happy hour and so much more!

The building is adorable and located right downtown Traverse City on Union street.
They bought the space in 2019 and updated it to make it so dang cute!
It has the kitchen of everyone’s dreams…
Everything in this space is so unique and custom. I mean even the wallpaper in each bathroom is one of kind hand, drawn by one of Nicole’s childhood friends, @hol.wer.da.
Happy Hour at Forrest, A Food Studio
My new favorite thing at Forrest is their Thursday happy hours. They offer an incredible and affordable menu from 4-7 pm. The menu changes every two weeks and always sounds so yum. I went a couple of weeks ago and they offered Croquetas de Pollo, Tuna Tostada, Truffled Mushroom Ravioli, and Pan Con Tomate. Of course, we ordered one of each and they were all so yum! They also have a great natural organic wine list to choose from. Pictured below is their Tuna Tostada and Truffled Mushroom Ravioli.

Croquetas de Pollo…it actually came with five but we were so excited we ate one and then remembered to get a picture!
My personal favorites were the truffled mushroom ravioli and the tuna tostada.
Carryout at Forrest
Another great option at Forrest is their carryout menu. When the pandemic first hit we ordered a few takeout dinners from them and they were always so good! They are always trying out new options and menu items so stay up to date on their Instagram or Website to see what they are offering at that time.
Organic Wine Shoppe at Forrest
Forrest has wine by the glass when enjoying dinner or happy hour there, but you can also take home a bottle or two from their all natural and organic wine shoppe. They are even doing some wine pairing dinners so keep an eye out for them as they always sell out very fast!
Each time I order from here or stop in I always have a great experience. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful and delicious restaurant to add to our favorite list in Traverse City.
