Five Things You Can’t Miss On Your Day Trip to Rovinj

Five Things You Can’t Miss On Your Day Trip to Rovinj

A DAY TRIP TO ROVINJ

Croatia has an abundance of adorable seaside towns providing unlimited charm-one I fell in love while on a day trip, was Rovinj. Let’s be honest, I fell in love with them all, but I loved how quaint Rovinj was. We were staying in Pula for a few days before our ferry to Venice and decided to drive 40 minutes to the sweet town of Rovinj. I recommend a day trip to Rovinj if you are looking to experience the seaside of Croatia but don’t want the crowds like some of the bigger towns like Dubrovnik and Split have.

Wander and shop around the cobblestone streets and alleys

The cobblestone streets are what make a day trip to Rovinj so great. You can walk around the whole town in a half day and although there are many cute towns in the world where you can do this, the cobblestone just makes it feel more special, romantic even.rovinj croatia door a day trip to rovinj croatia door rovinj croatia doorrovinj croatia house

Eat Lunch at Lavanda

We weren’t looking for Lavanda, it just found us. An eclectic and adorable restaurant with an even more adorable patio! I recommend the local white wine, calamari, and pizza. We also heard the seafood is excellent so if you aren’t craving pizza give it a try and let me know what you think!lavanda pizza rovinj croatiaOnce again the cobblestone street makes it, the excellent food and service was a bonus! lavanda pizza rovinj croatia

Swim at Plaza Baluota

Swimming at Plaza Baluota is a must when visiting Rovinj! We were here in September and this is how busy it was, but apparently, it’s quite packed in the summer so make sure you try and get here early if you want a place for the day.  I recommend bringing some cushion for your booty there are only a few places where the rock is smoothed over and it’s quite uncomfortable if you plan on sitting there for a while.swimming rovinj, croatia

VISIT THE LIM FJORD

This is something I didn’t do when visiting Rovinj because I had already been on a lot of boat trips in Croatia, but I have heard this one is beautiful so if you have time definitely squeeze it in.  There are many different tour companies and they all offer different tours, but I was recommended Excursion Delfin. Most of their tours are 4 hours long, include lunch and drinks,  visit Pirate Cave and are about $40 USD. If you’re looking for a shorter boat ride, they also offer a tour for sunset where they sail around the islands and that’s only two hours.  Here is a picture from one of their tours to the Lim Fjord.lim fjord croatia

Eat Dinner seaside

Dinner on the sea/cliffs is more expensive than the other restaurants in Rovinj so it all depends what you are looking for. But you’re on vacation right? So go for it! There are a few places to choose from when enjoying dinner on the water. Once again, it all depends what you are looking for. For a small plate or dessert, I recommend Male Madlene. If you’re looking to really splurge enjoy a seafood dinner at La Puntulina. Both awesome!male madelin rovinj croatiarovinj croatia cafe

It’s hard to choose a favorite place after spending a month in Croatia but Rovinj was definitely at the top of my list! A day trip to Rovinj, Croatia should definitely be on your radar if you’re looking to explore the seaside towns and countries in Europe.
