About 45 minutes South West of Traverse City, just a mile or two down the road from Crystal Mountain, is a not so hidden gem, Iron Fish Distillery. It is the perfect place for a cocktail and to enjoy the beauty of Northern Michigan. Whether you’re a local or a tourist visiting northern Michigan this winter you must check out Base Camp at Iron Fish Distillery. It was already one of our favorite places to visit but now that they have started Base Camp Iron Fish we love it even more!
Base Camp Iron Fish consists of 8 individual heated, waterproof, breathable canvas tents where guests can be cozy while enjoying spirits, cocktail, and farm to table fare! They are so cute and are really warm inside.
The tents are three sizes and can accommodate groups of 4-8 people. The tents are available by reservation for a 90-minute timeframe, and the tents are fully refreshed and sanitized between each use. Scroll down for the reservation link!
Iron Fish Distillery does a great job of making sure you and your friends and family are safe while visiting. It’s also so easy to order and privately enjoy your tent! Simply use the QR code in your tent to find the menu. Then order at the register window. Next, a sweet and kind employee will deliver your drinks and food to the tray outside of your tent! They just let you know when they drop it off and you can get up and get it.
WHAT TO EAT AND DRINK AT BASE CAMP IRON FISH DISTILLERY
Aside from making awesome cocktails, Iron Fish Distillery offers some incredible farm to table fare as well. Some of our favorites include their pizzas (all flavors are great) and their black bean hummus. Keep in mind their menu changes often because it’s seasonal so it won’t always be the same when you visit.
They also team up with local businesses to create incredibly yummy seasonal drinks. A few days ago they were offering this Merry White Mocha Cocktail featuring their White Rum, Grocer’s Daughter Cocoa Butter, farm made peppermint mocha sauce, almond milk, vanilla whipped cream and Grocer’s Daughters chocolate sprinkles, YUM!
Not only is their new set up perfect for the holidays and winter months, but they also offer great Christmas presents so you can support local while giving the best presents to friends and family!
